From concept to finished product. I created the Lava Dress design based on the colour orange. The dress pattern consists of 20 panels sewn inside out to create the illusion of lava running down. Satin silk and silk organza were dyed with a Japanese technique called shibori using non-toxic cold water dye and sewn by hand.
